J&G Suites Chania
The J&G Suites is a small hotel situated in the middle of the old town of Chania, Crete. Splantzia is the name of the neighborhood, and it is a quiet area of the old town, away from the most hectic touristic areas, though close to everything. From the hotel it is only a couple of minutes walk to the famous old harbor of Chania. If you walk in the opposite direction, it is a similar short stroll of 250 meters to the municipal market. The nearest beach, Koum Kapi, is less than ten minutes walk away. Just outside the hotel door you will find a couple of restaurants that are among the best in Chania, «The Well of the Turk» and «Ginger Concept». The building that houses the J&G Suites was built in the fifteenth century, in the middle of the Venetian era. Later, in the Ottoman era, the building got the typical Turkish facade made of wood. Despite total restoration in 1999, a lot of the original details from the 15th century are retained. You can easily sense the ancient history of this building when staying at the J&G Suites.
